COMMON QUESTIONS

1.  WHAT ARE YOUR WEEKEND SERVICES LIKE?

Each weekend at the Encounter Church, you'll find a relaxed and friendly atmosphere with exciting contemporary worship music and a practical, relevant message.  You'll also find a printed outline for notes in your worship guide (or on YouVersion) that will help you make the most of each week's teaching.  Our children worship with their families and are then  dismissed to our fun-filled EKidZ service; small children will be welcomed into our loving, quality nursery.

2. WHAT WILL HAPPEN WHEN I VISIT FOR THE FIRST TIME?

If you are visiting for the first time, we will not embarrass you, have you stand up, or ask you to give money.  We know that many people want to check out the church and "be anonymous" for awhile--and that's fine with us!  Come in, enjoy the relaxed atmosphere, and see if this is the church family for you.

3.  WHAT DO I WEAR TO ATTEND YOUR SERVICES?

You'll find everything from casual clothes to business casual in our Weekend Services.  Come in whatever is comfortable for you, because the Encounter is not about what you look like or what you wear.

4.  WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?

We started as a portable church plant in September 2015, but as of late November 2016, the Encounter Church moved to its first 24/7 location at 2440 E Germann Rd, #5, Chandler, AZ 85286.

Our Connect Groups meet throughout the southeast valley in restaurants, coffee shops, homes and anywhere else it feels conducive to developing relationships and growing together.

5.  WHAT ABOUT MY CHILDREN?

At the Encounter Church, your children are a top priority.  Our nursery and preschool areas are clean, fun, safe and staffed with loving workers who care for children from birth through age 4 (and some age 5).  We also offer a dynamic children's ministry called EKidZ, for children in Kindergarten through 5th grade.

To enhance the safety and security of your children, we utilize a digital check-in system complete with badges for the children and a tag for you.  You will need your tag with you to pick up your child after a service (the tag matches the badge given to your child).

Each member of our EKidZ team is required to go through a background check and a special training called "From Darkness to Light" which prepares them to offer the safest environment possible for your children to have fun and learn more about God.

6.  HOW CAN I MEET OTHERS AND GET CONNECTED?

There are many ways to get involved.  Our Growth Track is called "The Path" and happens on the first Saturday of each every other month.  In the alternating months, catch our "Leadership Team Meet-n-Greet" on the first Sunday of every other month.  We'd love to meet you!  Also, our small groups, called Connect Groups, are another great way to connect.  In each of these, you can build friendships, learn more about the life of our church, and have the opportunity to grow in your faith.

7.  HOW CAN I BEGIN TO GROW?

Our desire is to see you become a fully-devoted follower of Jesus.  Our Growth Track, called "The Path", offers the tools necessary to make this happen in your life.  From the initial decision to accept Jesus as your Lord to your involvement in life-changing ministry, we will lead you step-by-step from healing to growth and into leadership.

8.  WHY DO YOU HAVE SMALL GROUPS?

Small groups are an important part of the Encounter Church; in fact, you haven't fully experienced the church until you've experienced our small groups.  Groups allow you to meet other members and develop relationships that will enhance your relationship with God.  As the Encounter grows, groups allow us to "stay small" and connected.  Groups are available for all ages and interests--there's bound to be one that's just right for you (and, if you have a unique interest and no group to match, you can always consider starting a group after completing "The Path", which is the Growth Track at the Encounter).

9.  HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED IN A SMALL GROUP?

One of the easiest things to do at the Encounter Church is to participate in a Connect Group.  Groups meet throughout the southeast valley and provide a place for Bible study, fellowship, and support.  As the Encounter grows, we will add more and more Connect Groups, so there's probably a small group not too far from you.  Stop by The  Hub (our "information station") in the lobby to learn more or to find a group.  You can also find a group through our online community called "Realm".
