What are core values? They are the guiding principles that define us and inform everything we do as the Encounter Church. We value many things, but here's our TOP TEN:
WE VALUE AUTHENTICITY
So we make it safe for people to be transparent, embrace them where they are, and together we grow. We feel we are following the example of Jesus when we are being real and moving forward together.
WE VALUE DIVERSITY
So we welcome everyone, regardless of age, ethnicity or life situation. We feel people matter more than politics, policy and procedure.
WE VALUE COMMUNITY
So we do life together by connecting in small groups, growing in relationships, and serving together. We feel lasting change happens in the context of relationships.
WE VALUE UNITY
So we extend grace to each other and live in harmony. We feel the call to love one another goes beyond theological opinions, political ideas and other differences we may have.
WE VALUE GOD'S PRESENCE
So we respond to Him by worshiping energetically and passionately. We feel worship is one of the ways to express our gratitude and experience His nearness.
WE VALUE GOD'S WORD
So we hear and apply relevant, biblical teaching. We feel His Word is a catalyst for ongoing transformation in our lives.
WE VALUE CELEBRATION
So we celebrate frequently and enthusiastically. We feel the abundant life Jesus offers includes having fun every day of the week, especially Sunday!
WE VALUE TAKING RISKS
So we add services and campuses and expand in many other ways. We feel ongoing growth will help us reach every person possible with the hope that is in Jesus Christ.
WE VALUE EXCELLENCE
So we start where we are, use what we have, do what we can, while always striving to get better. We feel excellence honors God and inspires people.
WE VALUE IMPACT
So we purposefully use our time and talents and generously give of our resources locally, nationally and globally. We feel God has gifted and empowered everyone to make a difference with each other and in the world.
